1. Data the App collects, how, and why
LandForm is a desktop add-in for Autodesk® Revit®. It runs locally on your computer. Your Revit models, project files, drawings, and design content are never transmitted to LandForm Automation. The App collects only the following:
Licensing
When a licence or trial is activated or validated, the App sends the licence key, the Windows computer name, the Windows account user name, a machine identifier derived from those values, and the country of use to our licensing service over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. This data is collected automatically at activation and periodic validation, and is used solely to issue, validate, and audit licences and to prevent misuse.
Tool usage statistics
When a registered LandForm command is run, the App records the command name, the Windows account user name, the country of use, and a run count. To determine the country, the App makes one request per session to a geolocation service (ipapi.co); only the resulting country name is stored — the IP address itself is not stored by LandForm. This data is used to understand which tools are used and to improve the product.
Feature-specific network requests
Location Map sends only map coordinates and image size to Esri's public ArcGIS Online service to download background imagery. Cloud Export accesses Autodesk cloud models using the Autodesk account already signed into Revit; those requests go directly from your computer to Autodesk Platform Services and are never routed through or stored by LandForm Automation. Contextual help (F1) opens this website's User Guide in your browser. Diagnostic logs are written locally on your computer only.
Website
If you request a trial, a purchase, or contact us through landformautomation.com, we receive the details you submit (such as name, email address, company, and message) and use them to respond, deliver the software and licences, and send occasional product update emails. Our website host records standard server logs.
2. Third parties
LandForm Automation does not sell personal data and does not use advertising networks or third-party analytics SDKs in the App. Data is shared only with the service providers needed to operate the App and website, each of which is required to protect it to at least the standard described in this policy:
- Google — hosts our licensing and usage-statistics backend (Google Apps Script and Google Sheets).
- ipapi.co — performs the IP-to-country lookup; it receives your public IP address as part of that request and processes it under its own privacy policy. LandForm stores only the country name.
- Esri — receives map-extent coordinates when Location Map downloads imagery.
- Autodesk — receives cloud-model requests made with your own signed-in Autodesk account when you use Cloud Export.
- Cloudflare — hosts this website and processes standard web-request logs.
- Form and email providers — relay website form submissions and our email correspondence to us.
3. Retention and deletion
Licensing records are retained while a licence or trial is active and for up to 24 months after it ends, for audit and support purposes, and are then deleted. Tool usage statistics are retained so long as they remain useful for product development and are periodically reduced to aggregate counts. Website enquiries and correspondence are retained only as long as needed to handle the request and any resulting business relationship. Local logs on your computer are yours and are removed when you delete them or uninstall the App.
4. Revoking consent and requesting deletion
You can revoke consent or request a copy or deletion of your data at any time by emailing info@landformautomation.com from the address associated with your licence or enquiry. We will confirm completion within 30 days. On request we will also disable usage-statistics logging for your licence. Uninstalling LandForm stops all collection by the App immediately. Unsubscribe instructions are honoured for any product update email.
